Longitudinal and Transverse waves

Hi friends you all know wave is an Disturbance which travels from one Location to Other Location with an Medium.

There are several types of waves, the main among those are Transverse and Longitudinal waves. We have given the Differences between the Both.

 LONGITUDINAL WAVES

 1) Here the Displacement of the Medium is Parallel to the Propagation of the Wave

 2) Sound waves are the Best Example

3) The Particle will moves with an Angle 0 Degree in the Direction of the Wave
4) They are also known as Compression Waves due to their Pulling and Pushing they do.
5) Longitudinal Waves cannot be Polarised
TRANSVERSE WAVES

1) Here the Displacement of the Medium is Perpendicular to the Propagation of the Wave
2)  Light and some Electromagnetic Waves are the Best Examples
3) The Particles will move with an Angle 90 degree with the Direction of the Wave
4) The another types of  Transverse Wave is S wave which Occurs at the Earth Quake
5) Transverse Waves can be Polarised
